Remember the enarei?
The transgender priestesses from the Scythian culture who may have used pregnant horse urine as an early form of HRT 2500 years ago? We talked about them in one of the earlier videos in this series – The Enarei – The Transgender Scythian Priestesses
I answered a question in the great r/AskHistorians thread on reddit they posted for pride month, which was really great of them.

Anyway, the question was:
What, if anything, do we know about the initiation of Enaree? Were preists/priestesess chosen for their roles in Scythian societies or did they chose to join them of their own accord?
That’s a great question, and it’s one we didn’t address in the original video, so let’s take a look.
This video got away from me in some ways.
It became just as much a conversation about the ethics of scientific research and debunking the claims made by right wing ghouls as it did the enarei, and we get into some pretty heavy topics.
But at the same time, we still answer the original question as best as we can.
